Mummy Cakes

- Makes: 12 Cupcakes
- Active Time: 25-30 Minutes
- Total Time: 40-45 Minutes
- Tools Required: Cupcake or Muffin Tin, Medium Mixing Bowl, Frosting Piping Bag (Or Ziploc® Bag), Spatula, Frosting Spreader , Oven Thermometer
Ingredients
For Cupcakes
- Full box Vanilla Cake Mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1 stick melted butter
- 1 cup milk
For Topping
- 2 containers store-bought white frosting
- 1 bag swedish fish (or red gummies for mouth)
- 1 bag candy eyeballs (found at craft store)
Directions
For Cupcakes:
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly grease or line standard 12- cup muffin pan. Combine eggs, butter, and milk. Add mix. Blend together until batter is smooth, approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Pour batter until cups are 2/3 full. Bake for 14 to 16 minutes.
For Topping:
- Once cupcakes are cooled, coat with smooth layer of frosting. Slice Swedish fish in half and place for mouth. Place googly eyes in desired location. Fill pastry bag or Ziploc® with 1 cup white frosting. Pipe frosting across eyes and mouth, being careful to leave small sections showing in order to create the desired "wrapping" look. Repeat until desired effect.
