  • Makes: 9 Slices
  • Active Time: 20-25 Minutes
  • Total Time: 20-25 Minutes
  • Tools Required: Medium Bowl, Spatula, Non-stick Skillet

Ingredients

    • 9 3/4 inch-thick slices of Dassant Classic Beer Bread
    • 9 large eggs
    • 13 1/2 ounces heavy cream
    • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1 stick unsalted butter
    • Half tablespoon powdered sugar
    • 1 pint blackberries
    • 1 pint blueberries
    • 6 strawberries, cut lengthwise into quarter-inch-thick slices
    • 1 small banana, cut crosswise into quarter-inch-thick slices

Directions

    • Using a dinner fork, poke holes through the thick-sliced Dassant Classic Beer Bread prepared according to package instruction. Lay them flat in a single layer inside a shallow backing dish. Combine eggs, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract and ground cinnamon in a mixing bowl and whisk together until sugar is dissolved and eggs are beaten. Pour batter over the bread slices and let soak for 3-4 minutes. Flip them over using a spatula. Let soak for another minute or until the batter is absorbed and bread is soft. Let half stick of butter sit in room temperature until softened. Melt remaining butter in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat (350°F). Add batter-soaked bread slices and grill slightly for about 3-4 minutes on each side until bread is golden brown and the egg mixture is cooked through. Dust French toast with powdered sugar and top with fruits. Serve with softened butter.
