Ingredients

    • For Doughnuts:

    • Full box Apple Cake Mix
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • 1 cup applesauce
    • For Glaze:

    • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
    • 1/2 cup honey
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    • Confectioners' sugar or cinnamon sugar to top

Directions

    • For Donuts:

    • Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly grease doughnut pan with cooking spray or butter.
    • In medium sized mixing bowl, combine eggs, oil and applesauce. Add mix. Fold together, until batter is smooth (about 1 minute.)
    • Gently pour batter into donut pan, filling each 2/3 full. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool slightly on wire rack.
    • For Honey Glaze:

      In a medium sized mixing bowl whisk together sugar, honey and vanilla until full blended. Add 3 tablespoons hot water one spoonful at a time, until thinned to glazing consistency. Drizzle desired glaze over each individual doughnut.
