Extreme Crouton Recipe

Ingredients

    • For Bread

    • Full box Beer Bread Mix
    • 12 oz. beer or soda water
    • 1 cup cheddar cheese- shredded
    • 5 slices maple cured bacon - diced and cooked
    • 1/4 cup chives - finely chopped
    • For Croutons

    • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil

Directions

    • For Bread

    • Preheat oven to 375° F. Combine cheese, cooked bacon and chives with mix. Add liquid. Quickly and firmly fold together until dry ingredients are moistened. Spread batter in pan and bake for 50 to 55 minutes. Allow to cool completely (can be done in advance).
    • For Croutons

    • Preheat oven to 350° F. Cut bread into 1-inch size cubes and spread on baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crisp. Rotate using spatula if required.
